Gum Paste flower cakes are truly a work of art! These flowers are diligently handmade, with some flowers for one cake taking over 200 hours to make the complete cake. These flowers are completely edible, however they are made with a gum paste base product and are not suggested to be consumed. They take on a porcelin like finish, and are very intricate in design. Each flower petal is hand formed and then put together to complete an entire flower. Each flower is then hand wired into a group or bundle/bouquet. The cake itself is usually a heavier cake, such as Italian Creme Cake, and a regular great tasting icing is used or even some prefer a rolled fondant . These cakes are absolutely gorgeous and the talk of the reception! Individual pricing and estimates are available. Most of these cakes usually range anywhere from $4.00 to $15.00 per serving, depending on the amount of flowers that are used and the number of tiers.
